Kavasbaşı
The project finds its footing in the particular light and weather of Istanbul. Rooms are arranged around a slow, patient circulation — broad where the hours linger, narrower where one is only passing through. Materials are drawn, where possible, from within a short day's drive of the site: split-faced stone, lime plaster, sun-bleached cedar, cast-in-place concrete with local aggregate. As a store, it is conceived not as a picture but as a practice — of dwelling, of work, of welcome — calibrated for a life led across years rather than a single visit.
